In this article the results of investigation of modern economic condition of energy branch development in Russia and particularly in Murmansk region are given. The factors of energy-carries demand forming are defined. The analysis of methods for energy consumption forecast is fulfilled. The approach to estimation of perspective energy consumption is developed and on its base the prognosis of electricity consumption in Murmansk region up till 2020 is made
